I am hugely impressed with Wind Sand & Stars' organisation and their relationship with the Bedouin family who looked after us. These local contacts made the experience especially rich. Many years ago Wind Sand & Stars fell in love with Sinai and its people. Working closely with the Bedouin tribes of South Sinai, we have developed strong partnerships and made life-long friends. We are proud of the many wonderful journeys and incredible experiences that have been shared; from businessmen to the homeless, from doctors to geologists, from students to pensioners, from church groups to those seeking the holiday of a lifetime.

Adventure into Silence Report

Set in the most beautiful sandstone area of South Sinai, surrounded by spectacular weather beaten hills and wide sandy valley floors, the desert is one of the few places on earth where "the crashing sound of silence" (from the story of Elijah) can still be found. This gentle adventure will offer time and space to explore silence, with optional walks, accompanied by our Bedouin hosts. At the start and end of each day, our special guest speaker and award winning writer Sara Maitland will lead discussions.

Wind Sand & Stars is delighted to announce that our founder, Emma Loveridge, will lead her first trip back to the Sinai Desert in many years. Professional commitments and raising her children have meant that Emma has not had the chance to revisit the Sinai for longer that she would care to reflect upon.!
