Peter started his travel career in Ibiza, holding a number of management positions across Europe for the likes of Sovereign, which later re-branded as First Choice. Had a great villa holiday in Val Do Logo through Sun Hat Villas. They honoured a cancelled 2020 booking and it was everything we hoped for. Stayed at Villa Gabriella which was fabulous, the rep Charlie was so helpful, the company are professional, good contact and you can actually talk to a person! Highly recommend.

Almost at the end of a wonderful week at Villa Rosamar in Vilamoura. Since we booked just under 1 year ago the villa has undergone serious investment in the interior -furniture/ new kitchen/ new bathrooms windows and shutters/screens. Sun-hat have been exceptionally helpful all the way through. Our last stay In Vilamoura 2 years ago with a different company almost put us off- so glad it didn't. Thanks to the villa owners for reinvestment!

I would avoid hiring a villa with Sun Hat at all possible costs. We have had several issues with our villa - the most serious being that the outdoor swimming pool was heated to 41C. This meant the pool was totally unusable. The only solution has been a hose into the pool for a few hours - which has made no difference at all. When we spoke to Sun Hat, we were told different things by different people - with aggression, hostility and suspicion.
We were told that our contract is with the villa owner - and not with Sun Hat. As such, they were unable to help at all. This company have allowed our holiday to be spoilt; and seem to give no regard for this at all. I cannot urge you more strongly to avoid hiring a villa with Sun Hat.

First time traveller with Sun Hat and I would not hesitate to recommend them. From start to finish they were professional, courteous and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure we had a good time and the holiday villa was exactly as described on the web site. First class company and people who exceeded all expectations. Thank you.

The villa itself was very nice, very comfortable, well equipped and in a great location. Unfortunately the outside space let the rest of it down. There were two ashtrays, full to the brim with cigarette ends on the terrace and by the pool, which by the first morning meant they were being blown about the terrace and into the pool. As a non smoking family that was the last thing I expected or wanted to be doing on the first day was cleaning up.
The terraces themselves were filthy, the kids feet were black anytime they were walking barefoot and the amount of sea-gull droppings about the place was ridiculous. I fully understand that in a coastal location that simply can't be avoided but, by the sheer volume it was clear that it's rarely cleaned. Seating, sunloungers, hand rails etc were splattered.
There were 3 umbrellas on the terrace with only 1, actually working. One lay in busted heap, by the broken pool net, whilst the top half of the third was jammed into the a stand with a piece of tree bark and stood approx 4 feet off the ground. The pool itself also had a broken drain cover, with half still in place and the other half actually in the drain.
This caused quite a few foot injuries over the course of the week. My final point is on the security. As the listing states the villa has electric gates at the top, near the front of the villa. It doesn't mention the two other sets of gates onto the property which are unlocked and indeed with 1 double set broken to the extent they can no longer be closed.
That coupled with the broken security shutter on the main patio terrace meant it never really felt secure. Rant over, despite the external issues above we all still had a very enjoyable holiday. The town is excellent, with lots of good restaurants, nice beach an excellent coastal walk and caves to visit. We will certainly be back, just not in a sun-hat villa. -- Updated -- Peter, thanks for the response.
As you said Patricia did indeed call in on the first day, 90 minutes after we had arrived, we were still unpacking and get settled in. At that stage we hadn't discovered the external concerns. It would make more sense to perhaps call the first morning? As for the security, perhaps it's a personal thing but there aren't many villas in the area that have open gates (unable to be closed as they are broken) onto the street enabling whoever to walk right into the grounds of the villa.

We have used Sun-Hat most years and I cannot speak highly enough of the service we have received, from office staff right through to being in resort. All of the properties we have stayed in (around 7 over the years) have been wonderful-clean, well located and always better than expected. Thank you Sun-Hat, we will of course be back.

We booked the villa for 9 people for the week of our wedding. We travelled from Ireland to get married in Mallorca and we were so excited to get to our villa. We had rented a van between four of us as we knew we'd have a lot of luggage. When we were directed to our villa, to our surprise we discovered the road leading there was very narrow, steep and windy.
Obviously we struggled to get the van up, and this took a considerable amount of time and effort. No taxi's would come up the road to pick us up and therefore the women in the group had to walk down the hill in flat shoes in the evening. We would take our high heels in a bag to change at the bottom and leave our flats in an old bike shed at the bottom, and all five pairs were even stolen on our second last night.
I had previously organised bus transfers to pick us up on the day of the wedding, again because we had not been made aware of the steep and narrow hill, we had to walk to a bus stop 20 minutes away where they picked us up. Not ideal on the morning of your wedding and carrying your wedding dress in hand. The same scenario occurred for the grooms party.
We would have thought during our week that someone would have come to clean or give us fresh towels which did not happen. Similarly, we had to walk down the long hill to dump our rubbish which we were told we had to do. The villa had very steep and dangerous stairs, definitely not appropriate for children or older people. One other issue for us was that we were busy all day preparing for the wedding and wanted to relax in the sun by the pool in the evening.
Unfortunately the sun left our villa by 4pm which again we weren't aware would happen. The villa was expensive and considering all the flaws that occurred we are very unhappy with our experience and the lack of information that was provided to us prior to the check in.

We stayed at Villa Joy in Vale do Lobo July/August 2018 and would definitely recommend this for a holiday. The villa was beautiful, spacious and very clean. The photos are all accurate and everything that was promised was delivered. The villa is also in a great location- only 15 minute walk in each direction to the golf reception and the praca. It is also literally across the road from the tennis centre and when we wanted a bigger pool to swim in this came in very handy. The villa is appointed to a high standard and we will definitely consider this villa again.
