Leap Overseas

Me and my brother did the Costa Rica adventure programme which lasted 4 weeks. We literally experienced so much! The pace never stops and you're never missing home or finding yourself being bored, it's so exciting. Each place has its perks, the finca had the quiet tranquil days and parties at night with a private pool. Samara saw a week of beaches, surfing and dolphin spotting. Monteverde was full of adventure with zip lining, bunjee jumping and waterfall hikes. Natuwa saw some of the most gorgeous animals.

Overall an amazing experience! The leap then helped with our ongoing travels helping transfer us to the airport (and getting us there on time!) I would recommend this programme so highly

Overall I had a really great experience that I will remember for the rest of my life! I made so many new friends and exciting memories that will stay with me forever. The leap leaders really made the trip. We had Val, Steffie and Caroline who we saw more as friends than leaders by the end. They were great as you could go and speak to them if you had any problems.

I also felt very safe at all times. The only thing I would say is that the accommodation at times was quite bad compared to the cost of the programme. Also most people in my team didn't enjoy Natuwa which is the animal sanctuary as the living conditions and the food and water were quite poor which caused a lot of people to get ill including myself.

However my favourite part of the programme was Samara everyone loved it the surf lessons were great and they had amazing cafes and beach bars. The turtle sanctuary there was also great. I loved how remote the location was, the beach was incredible and I saw the best sunsets there.

It was amazing! I did the Costa Rica scuba course in February and in just a month managed to have 30+ dives as a new diver and the reef conservation meant that we were constantly doing something new. The instructors made the trip worth it, they were friendly and so easy to get along with and I'll miss them as much as I'll miss the diving. It was the best decision of my life to learn diving with the leap, even if just for the conservation and the ability to give back.

Taking a 'Leap' by heading to Costa Rica really is by no means an easy decision to make, but upon reflection, now, I can safely say that it proved to be the BEST experience I could have wished for. The 6 week programme has given me some of the best moments and experiences of my life-frankly, things I could never dream of encountering here in the UK.

From surfing, to collecting coconuts, spotting monkeys, snorkeling, pizza nights, and so much more, I quite simply had the time of my life and now that I'm back I'll recommend the Leap to my mates - still at school! Hopefully, for their sake, some of them will be smart enough to take 'The Leap' just like I did during my gap year. Unforgettable! Pura Vida Mae

In a COVID addled world, where travel rules and restrictions can change so fast, I cannot recommend The Leap team enough. They kept us informed while ensuring our son had the most wonderful time. As a parent, it was reassuring to know he was in safe hands while experiencing the best of Costa Rica while also giving something back to the community. Upon his return, he said he thought it would be good but in reality it was so much more than that. Life long friends made, both domestic and international. I would definitely recommend.

To call this experience the best 6 weeks of my life would be a total understatement. as a nervous teen leaving home (solo) was hard enough but the leap made this the smoothest trip ever. from airport transfers to every single soul involved being absolute heaven - I couldn't recommend this enough. Costa Rica is a place you want to do with an inside man and the leap is exactly that. the safest way to cruise through Central America in style. i couldn't recommend this enough to anyone - it was worth every penny! planning my post uni gap year and it is 100% involving the leap x

Official:The Leap responsible for my son's "best time of [his] whole life." The Leap was consistently helpful and encouraging from the word go. I had thought about economising and sending my son to Costa Rica independently but am absolutely convinced that I made the right decision to send him under the incredibly reassuring Leap umbrella. Zoe was amazing, as was Millie, in obliterating parental worry and neurosis, especially in uncertain times.

In October, we decided to send our gap-year daughter to Costa Rica with The Leap. The itinerary (helping turtles, working in nature reserves and national parks, plus time to explore) appealed to parents and daughter alike. We found the funds, but had not quite anticipated the extent of the various pandemic-related challenges facing travellers at this time.

Not to worry. The management and staff at The Leap (in the UK and Costa Rica) provided outstanding guidance and advice at every stage, turning a formidable and intimidating process into something manageable, and - all things considered - as pain free as possible. Thank you so much, Milly, Zoe, Olivia and Val. Our daughter had such a good time (and valuable experience), she is now meeting up with friends she made on her trip and asking to return to South America (with The Leap) next year. Five stars.

Absolutely amazing. I booked my nephews on a gap year abroad using The Leap. I have to say their service was brilliant. They were very transparent, caring and professional. I did my research prior to booking the leap, and what they were offering, no other company was offering the same type of package. I knew precisely where my nephews were going to go, be doing every day, the team that was going out, and where they were staying. Thank you Guy & Milly. I'd certainly recommend The Leap!

I cannot recommend The Leap highly enough. Milly and Guy and their team were on hand to help at any twist and turn that Covid19 threw in our direction whilst two of our daughters travelled with their company to central America. They had the most wonderful time and a gap year to remember thanks to the Leap!

A great travel company specialising in gap year travel for people wanting to volunteer overseas. I'd recommend young first-time travellers to pay a visit to The Leap, I went with them when I was 19 and it gave me the confidence to travel solo. It's also nice to know that you're actually making a difference to poorer communities, rather than getting wrecked on a booze cruise in Thailand! The best part? The friends I made on my trip have become friends for life. Something I will definitely do again.
