Naturetrek was founded in 1986 and our first tours specialised in birdwatching and botanical treks to remote and mountainous areas of the world. Thirty-four years later, we still offer many such treks, but our portfolio of holidays now includes 450+ holidays to over 90 different destinations worldwide.
All of Naturetrek's staff offer a friendly, flexible and expert service. Most have been with the company a long time and know the trade inside out. All our staff have a very keen interest in natural history, conservation and travel, and we pride ourselves on the extremely personal and knowledgeable service we offer you.

Went on an evening of bat watching, which also included a walk through a local nature reserve we didn't even know existed. Our guide was really knowledgeable and had loads of interesting local information. Either of the two parts of the evening, the nature reserve walk, or the bat spotting and identification would have made a great trip out, but combined was really special. Highly recommend.

My father, 9 year old son and myself joined David and some fellow enthusiasts for an evening of bird watching and stargazing coinciding with the recent Perseid meteor shower in mid August. David was engaging, patient and enthusiastic all while being educational and generous with his immense knowledge and facts on local flora, fauna and astronomy. I would thoroughly recommend his guidance and we hope to join him again in the not too distant future

Once you go on one of Naturetrek's spectacular tours you are unlikely to travel in any other fashion due to their incredible ability to give a fresh and beautiful perspective on life! I recently traveled with Naturetrek on an unforgettable trip to Baja California & the Sea of Cortez on a whale watching and island hopping tour. It was spectacular! A truly magical place - the experience was made all the more enjoyable by the streamlined and stress-free organisation of the trip by Naturetrek; from the staff at the office to the tour guides and crew members on the boat - everyone was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.
We saw Blue Whale, Humpback, Sperm Whale, Pilot Whale and had close encounters with Whale Sharks and 40 metre long Grey Whale as well as a multitude of birds from tiny hummingbird to giant Albatross. Thank you for a fantastic trip! I can't wait for the next one!

I love whales and have always wanted to visit Baja but I'm a bit of a nervous traveller so had always put it off. A friend recommended Naturetrek to me and I'm so glad they did! They were so helpful and friendly both before and during the trip and everything was organised so efficiently. The trip was incredible, we saw breaching humpbacks and so many blue whales, it's an experience I will never forget. I will definitely be using Naturetrek again. Now just to decide where to go next!

A wonderful few days in remote Sweden. Breathtaking scenery and special wildlife with the comfort of a superb family run guesthouse. Hearing Wolves howling on a perfectly still night in the forest was something very special indeed. This was my first holiday with Naturetrek and now the only question is where to go next!
