Services
We all want a little bit of luxury now and again and these tours are designed to give you that 'VIP' experience. We use a VIP Coach with Tables - please note some seats are backward facing - complete with Professional Tour Driver and Hostess. Just 38 seats on this coach so plenty of room to spread out.
In 1900, Ellen Gilson & Lund Smith started a haulage and passenger service between Littleborough and Rochdale with horse-drawn wagonettes. One of the earliest long distance passengers adventures was a holiday tour to London, Brighton & Eastbourne some 20 years later. Today, Ellen Smith Tours do things a little differently to Ellen & Lund, but we have those family values at heart in everything we do.
If you require a copy of Destination Specialists Terms & Conditions prior to booking please ask a member of our staff. Please be aware that for security purposes when travelling to The Channel Islands you are required to carry some form of photographic identification eg. Photo Driving Licence; Passport etc.
There's lots to choose from inside and we're sure you'll find something that takes your fancy! Don't forget, all the holidays in our brochures include our famous 'Door to Door' pick-up/drop-off service, so don't hesitate, contact us for a copy!

Best Western Mark Tays. The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Your driver Brent will have described it to you. Cold rooms with no heating and poor food and rude servers. The boy on reception with the "Body Art" was a delight and did his best to help. The Bull at Gerards Cross was a near runner up with disgusting food although the rooms were OK. I am an old and loyal customer of Ellen Smiths, but am going to hold off until things improve.

I don't know how much I can say about a bus ride, but driver was very friendly and helpful. Seats comfortable, timing was on the good side. Of course we were late getting back due to traffic, but out of their control. Loo in bus just incase it's needed.

I've not travelled with them yet, but they seem to have better class hotels and at home pick up

We have been travelling with Ellen Smith Tours for around 20 years and would not want to travel with another coach tour company. Our main reasons are the door-to-door service with no interchanges and the variety of tours and destinations offered, as well as the excursions included at no extra cost. Everyone working for the company has always been very helpful and friendly.

I like this company because when you go on one of their holidays, they actually send transport to your house to take you to the pick up point. This is very useful especially when pick up is early! They are also a local company and seem to take notice of comments and suggestions. My only disappointment is that the tours are always to the same places, sometimes not very imaginative, but the majority have to be catered for I suppose.

I would like to see more trips to National Trust and other historical places ect but then I don't suppose the coaches would fill up. This is the case with most companies though.
